MACONDITO is a salsa band established in 1988 which has over the years become one of the hottest salsa bands in Germany and beyond. Its band leader, MARTIN SCHEER (bass) original from Dortmund, gathered the outstanding musicians to form MACONDITO and has since its inception raised the group to international level and helped to develop its own distinctive sound. The German-Venezuelan rhythm section of MACONDITO is comprised of the talented percussionists FELIPE "MANDINGO" RENGIFO and RAFAEL VICENTE HIDALGO. The highly sought-after "German salsa all-stars" THOMAS DEBLER (piano) and MARTIN SCHEER (bass) share the stage with the superb German-Cuban horn section featuring "AXELITO" GIANT WEBER GUIDO WELLERS and FRANK DULISCH (trumpets), as well as saxophonist PETER BRAND and trombonist REY ARDILES RUIZ, who gained success in Cuba with bands such as RUMBAVANA and ORQUESTA REVE. MARTIN SCHEER and RAFAEL HIDALGO also contribute with their own compositions and arrangements which make the MACONDITO's repertoire.
The "Salsa-made in Germany" brand from MACONDITO has been spread thanks to its many musical performances, including some stunning joint appearances with the superstar IRAKERE cuban band and "EL REY TUMBAO" EDDIE PALMIERI!
But this band does not only know how to impress audiences live. The 1998's debut CD "CAMINA", featuring compositions exclusively written for MACONDITO, attracted considerable international attention and was played on radio stations not only in Germany but also abroad in CUBA, NEW YORK, VENEZUELA and COLOMBIA!
So MACONDITO took the leap with its "SALSA - made in Germany" from the small German Latin music community to the international arena, something not many European bands can claim!
